Welcome to COLA 2009
Welcome to Singapore, home of the 10th annual Conference on Laser Ablation (COLA). The conference highlights fundamentals of laser - materials interactions and their forefront applications in pulsed laser deposition, nanoscience, analytical methods, materials, and micro/nano processing applications. COLA is an extremely interdisciplinary conference and the topics cover a wide range of scientific research that often bridges the gap between basic science and applications / technology.
The topics include, but not limited to the following:
- Fundamentals of Laser-Material Interactions
- Modeling and Simulation
- Laser Surface Interactions
- Ultrafast Phenomena and Dynamics
- Laser Materials Processing
- Patterning, Cleaning, Annealing, Deposition, Modification
- 3 D Structuring and Prototyping Polymerization
- Ultrafast Laser Surface Processing and Structuring
- Laser Analysis
- LIBS and MALDI
- Diagnostics
- Laser-based Probes
- Pulsed Laser Deposition
- Modeling and Simulation
- Film Production and Combinatorial PLD
- New Materials and Applications
- Laser Applications
- Industry
- Biology
- Lithography and Printing
- Lasers in Nanoscience – Nanotechnology
- Cluster, Nanoparticle and Nanotube Formation
- Nanoscale Processing and Structuring
- Nanoscale Diagnostics and Analysis
- Plasmonics, THz and Meta-materials
The COLA conference has been held every 2 years since 1991:
- 1991: Oak Ridge (USA)
- 1993: Knoxville (USA)
- 1995: Strasbourg (France)
- 1997: Monterey (USA)
- 1999: Göttingen (Germany)
- 2001: Tsukuba (Japan)
- 2003: Crete (Greece)
- 2005: Banff (Canada)
- 2007: Tenerife, Canary Islands (Spain)
2009: Singapore
This year we are pleased to be the host for the 10th International Conference on Laser Ablation in 2009, which will be held for the first time in Singapore and the second time in Asia.
