COLA 2009 is intended to focus both on the fundamental mechanisms of laser matter-interactions including ablation as well as the applications of laser matter interactions to a broad range of applications in industrial processes, biology and nanotechnology.
COLA 2009 wants to encourage the participation of PhD students by:
- Organizing Student Oral Session, where the students will have the opportunities to present their works. The best presentations will be awarded.
- Providing COLA Student Grants, which will be selected by the Conference Committee based on the papers’ quality and impact. Deadline for application will be in all cases the same as abstract submission and the application request will be included in the abstract submission procedure. To be eligible, the requesting student must be the presenting author at COLA for the submitted abstract.
COLA 2009 organizes also the tutorial on Laser Processing of Materials: Fundamentals and Applications presented by leading scientists for a maximum of 50 students from academia and industry. Deadline for application is July 1, 2009 at: http://cola2009.org/
